Friday 17th January - walk **** - National Trust – Polesden Lacey –
sunny and breezy.
Having spent the best part of three days with our lovely Grandson it is
time to head home today but again stop at the National Trusts house and
gardens at Polesden Lacey near Dorking. It is a nice sunny winters day all
be it a bit breezy. I park on the grass while Mag gets a parking ticket on
our membership card only to find that I am now stuck in the mud! A very
nice man helps us push the van out and we are soon parked safely! Mag and I
then walk to the entrance and into the grounds. As we have already done the
house and gardens, we decide to do a circular route around the grounds.
Turning left by the large house we head over to the large tree swings where
the inner child takes over and we have some fun:) We continue past the bird
feeders but only tits, then down the hill offering stunning views of
English countryside:) It’s a case of walking along the valley and up the
hill the other end past a large flock of sheep. We then have to walk up the
hill but can’t back into the house without going through the entrance
again so we return to the van and continue the journey home. The journey
goes well and we make good time so we call in at B & M on the outskirts of
Ipswich before heading over to Levington Marina to catch a lovely
sunset:)
